I closed my distant eyes
And raised my hands in prayer
I wanted to feel Heaven
Animate my mortal soul
You dropped glimpses…
Heaven’s broken essence
I bandaged their wings
Till they flew home…
So as you drop
Your damaged baggage
Just be aware
I’m not reaching for Heaven
Anymore
